What Causes Your Butt To Sag?
There are many factors that contribute to a sagging butt. Among them:
Genetic predisposition. Some people are born with flat booties and some have naturally droopy derrieres. It’s just genetics.
Pregnancy. Pregnancy can change how your body looks, including your butt. Because of the extra weight you need to carry in front, the tendency is to tilt the pelvis forever. While this may be a comfortable stance, it can also weaken your hamstrings. When this happens, your buttocks, unfortunately, will sag.
Aging. Over time, our muscles, including those in our buttocks, weaken. And this results in sagging and droopy butts.
Extreme fluctuations in weight. Weight loss results in fat loss in the buttocks, as well as in other parts of the body. With no fat supporting the skin from underneath, the buttocks will naturally sag and wrinkle. Extreme weight gain can also result in droopy butts.
Sun Damage. Your butt can get brown spots, and can wrinkle and sag when not given sun protection.
All About Radiesse Buttocks Lift
What is Radiesse and How Can It Fix My Sagging Butt?
Maybe you’ve heard of Radiesse and how it can address wrinkles and creases in the face and plump up the backs of hands to make you look more youthful. But now you’re wondering - “How can Radiesse fix my sagging butt?”
As it turns out, aesthetic practitioners found that Radiesse can also be used to add definition and firmness to droopy, saggy buttocks.
Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler with calcium hydroxylapatite as its active ingredient. This comes in the form of microspheres suspended in a watery gel.
The effect of a Radiesse buttocks lift is both immediate and progressive. When injected into the buttocks area, the gel portion in Radiesse provides the initial lift. However, Radiesse also has the unique ability to stimulate the production of collagen. This results in progressive improvement of how your buttocks look as skin becomes tighter and elastic. The end result? A firmer and more contoured butt.
Can Radiesse Do More Than Fix My Sagging Butt?
There’s more good news - a Radiesse butt lift can address more than a sagging or droopy derriere. What else can it do for you?
It can improve the look of cellulite and stretch marks.
A Radiesse butt lift can add as much as 20-50% volume to your booty making it look fuller.
It can fill in unsightly hallowed areas in your buttocks.
What are the Advantages of a Radiesse Butt Lift?
A Radiesse butt lift is minimally invasive and is the perfect solution for people who don’t want to undergo surgery or liposuction and fat transfer.
Here are the advantages of getting a Radiesse buttocks lift:
There is no surgery involved, therefore, you avoid incisions that can cause post-operative scarring.
There is no painful or complicated recovery period.
You can go back to regular activities soon after treatment.
Your buttocks get augmented naturally (no silicone implants).
There is no liposuction and the subsequent fat transfer from one part of your body to your buttocks.
As collagen production is stimulated, results come gradually. This means the end result is more natural looking.
While results are not permanent, they are long lasting (from 2 years, up to 5 years).
Who Makes a Good Candidate for a Radiesse Butt Lift?
If you need a subtle lift to your buttocks or want to add some volume to it, or if you want to reduce the look of cellulite without surgery, a Radiesse butt lift is a great solution for you.
You must be 18 or older to undergo the treatment and in good health condition. It’s important to have a pre-treatment consultation so you can be assessed for any risks such as bleeding disorders, allergies, or other conditions that can make the treatment risky for you.
What to Expect with a Radiesse Butt Lift Treatment?
This is an important step before undergoing any treatment. It minimizes the risks and ensures that the treatment you get is really appropriate for you.
You will need to disclose your medical history (bleeding disorders, allergies and other issues) as well as any medications or herbal supplements you are currently taking.
Your specialist will give you instructions prior to your treatment. You’ll be asked to stop certain medications such as Ibuprofen, NSAIDs and herbal supplements. You’ll be asked to refrain from smoking, vaping, or drinking prior to your appointment.
To prepare the area to be injected with the dermal filler, it will be cleaned and sterilized to avoid any infections. Radiesse already contains lidocaine but if you are particularly sensitive to pain, your specialist may apply a topical anesthetic to help numb the area and keep you comfortable during the treatment session.
A blunt tip cannula is used to inject the Radiesse dermal filler under your skin where collagen is produced. It may take several injections before the desired results are achieved. A treatment session will normally take 30 minutes.
Depending on your needs, it may take 2 to 3 treatment sessions spaced 4 months in between to complete the treatment.
After Treatment Recovery
It’s normal to feel some pain and soreness in your gluteal area after the treatment. However, this should subside in a few days after the treatment. If you are up to it, you may go back to your normal activities soon after.
Your specialist will advise you to refrain from sleeping on your back until Radiesse has settled properly. You should sleep on your back or your side.
Is a Radiesse Buttocks Lift Risky?
While minimally invasive, a Radiesse buttocks lift is still a procedure with its attendant risks. Many side effects are expected and will go away in time. However, it’s important to watch out for more serious side effects that need medical attention
Some common side effects are:
Rash or itching
Bleeding in the treatment area
Lumps or bumps
The following side effects are serious and need to be addressed immediately as this may point to an infection:
Yellow or green discharge at the treatment area
While these side effects are rare, they can happen if your Radiesse booty lift provider is not trained or experienced. Make sure to do your research before choosing your provider.
